Melanie Lemley (Upper School History/Humanities​)

Melanie Lemley has a B.S. in Physical Therapy, as well as experience living overseas and a lifelong commitment to learning about people and events throughout world history. She and her husband Randall are missionaries with Wycliffe Bible Translators, having served in Cameroon and Ethiopia before returning to the U.S. for a stateside assignment. Mrs. Lemley also tutors at-risk children at the Arlington H.O.P.E. Tutoring Center.  The 2016-17 school year will be her seventh year teaching Humanities courses at MGA. She teaches World History (Ancients – Middle Ages) to Rhetoric 1, Western Civilization to Rhetoric 2, United States History to Rhetoric 3, and Government and Economics to Rhetoric 4. Mrs. Lemley believes her role is “not a teacher, but an awakener.” (Robert Frost)
