Ken, a native of Indiana, was raised on a farm. He spent the early years of his life riding a tractor in corn fields and tending to hogs. He enjoyed growing up in a farming family with three siblings, numerous cousins, and several aunts and uncles.
Ken began teaching in New Mexico after graduation from Eastern New Mexico University in 1971. During his tenure in NM, he earned his Master’s degree in Special Ed. His experience includes classroom teacher, coach, and NM and Texas sports official. Ken has also served in the church setting as an adult Sunday school teacher, as well as Sunday school superintendent. He retired from NM education in 1996 and began teaching in Texas.
Prior to his retirement from FWISD, Ken’s career in teaching has been in elementary, middle and high school teaching resource class and all academic subjects. He truly believes his career of 43 years was his calling and God provided many opportunities for him to teach sound life principals to his students. He enjoys teaching his students math processes and helping them achieve problem solving skills they will need to be successful.
He has been married to his wife, Carol for 45 years. Carol is one of MGA’s kindergarten teachers. They have two grown children. He is most famous for his role as Papa to Zack, Aubrey and Hunter. Even though Ken’s experience has been in public education, he is pleased that his granddaughters are homeschooled. In addition to reading and travel, his hobbies include watching college basketball, major league baseball and British mysteries. He especially enjoys praise and worship music. He and Carol attend Glory of Zion Church in Corinth.
Ken looks forward to joining the MGA team and assisting his students so they can reach their full potential.
